Concrete delivery inside Jumeirah Village Circle

In JVC dozens of plots are under construction at once on the same ring roads. Getting your truck to your plot past everyone else's mixers is most of the job.

Shared roads, shared hours

About 8 km from the plant, the route is Al Khail Road or Hessa Street, then onto the JVC ring roads. On busy days mixers, pumps and material lorries from several sites compete for the same lanes, and one badly parked pump can block a whole circle. Keep the plot entrance clear and tell us where the truck should wait.

Agree the pour time with the community and, if you can, with the neighbouring plots. We set the retarder for the route and the expected wait, which in JVC is often longer than the drive.

Truck counts for mid-rise plots

A typical mid-rise floor of 96 m³ is eight trucks. With limited space on the plot, we keep one at the pump and one behind it inside the hoarding, and the rest on the way from Al Quoz, released when the site calls. A G plus 4 raft is larger: 240 m³ means 20 trucks and an overnight pour.

Townhouse slabs are smaller. A 36 m³ slab is three trucks, often poured in the morning before the ring roads fill.

Our dispatcher keeps the phone line open with your site foreman for the whole pour. If another contractor blocks the circle, we hold the next truck at the plant until the road clears, rather than sending it to join a jam with its drum turning and its slump falling. For a pour that cannot stop, such as a raft, warn the neighbouring plots a day ahead.

Boom choice

Most JVC buildings are mid-rise. A 43 m boom covers the podium and lower floors from the street. The 57 m boom handles the upper floors or plots where the pump must stand on the far side of the road. A placing boom is rarely needed at these heights.

The ground is inland. Follow the consultant's specification for substructure exposure, and use screed for the floors at fit-out.
